Giving DuPage Day

In a world often divided, YWCA's Strong Families program stands as a beacon of hope and unity in DuPage County. By empowering low-income families with children from birth to 17 years old, we build stronger communities and a brighter future for all.

Our dedicated staff meet parents in their homes, providing support where it's needed most. These families face challenges like food and housing insecurity, joblessness, domestic violence, and systemic racism. Despite these obstacles, Strong Families is making a difference.

Since 2020, child abuse and neglect reports in DuPage County have risen by 26%, with caregivers responsible in over two-thirds of cases. Strong Families is committed to changing this.

Through our program, parents gain social connections, counseling, and mentorship. We help them cope with the stresses of parenting and heal from trauma, enabling them to build resilient futures for their children. Sometimes, all it takes is providing basic necessities to unlock a parent's potential. For example, we recently helped a family with a medically fragile child secure beds, lifting them off the floor and into a better life.

None of this would be possible without our generous donors. Today, we have a waiting list for Strong Families. To expand our reach, we need your help. Your gift can help us reach our $2,500 goal, allowing us to provide comprehensive, year-round services to more families in need.

Your donation can change the future for an entire family. Please give today.
